Cullen Lilley, MD, MS, MA, MB(ASCP), MDxT(AAB)
Cullen M. Lilley, MD, MS, MA, MB(ASCP), MDxT(AAB), is pathology resident at UCLA Health in Los Angeles, CA. He is a recent graduate from Loyola University Chicago where he received his doctor of medicine degree as well as a master’s in bioethics and health policy and is actively engaged with ethical and social justice issues in pathology and laboratory medicine. He is also co-founder of PathElective—a modular, free, accessible virtual education platform with over 1 million page views, 130,000 unique visitors, 15,000 registered users, and 60 faculty members. Prior to medical school, he earned his MS in microbiology and received a technologist certification in molecular biology and molecular diagnostics from ASCP and the American Association of Bioanalysts.
Before medical school, Dr. Lilley worked as a microbiologist in the Enteric Diseases Laboratory Branch at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA where he specialized in pathogens belonging to Listeria, Yersinia, and Enterobacteriales. He has been involved with research in the fields of medical education and clinicopathologic correlates of human disease, specifically histologic, cellular, and molecular biomarker discovery.
